General Warranty Information

Most Blind and Shade manufacturers have a fairly detailed limited lifetime warranty. Some are better then others in how liberal they are in honoring those warranties. Our primary blind and shade manufacturer is Hunter Douglas. Their warranty is by far the most liberal. Although the wording of the warranty may preclude a particular shade being covered, we rarely see them deny a warranty claim.

We recently repaired a very large Duette Vertiglide that was probably one of the first ones made when they came out in the late 1980's. The only cost to the customer was shipping the shade one way to Hunter Douglas and our trip charges. This was one of the rare times when we were unable to repair the shade in house. Replacement costs for this shade would have run approximately $2300!

If you are unsure of the warranty on a particular product, please just give us a call and we will do the research for you.

If you have a blind or a shade from another manufacturer, we will repair it for you at a nominal charge, or you can ship it back to the manufacturer for repair if it is still under warranty. We encourage you to contact the manufacturer of your shade to determine the best course of action. Most manufacturers will only pay the shipping back to you, and will most often take two weeks.

Some people choose to have us perform the repair even when under manufacturers warranty because of the quicker turn around time and the small additional costs over what they would have paid in shipping.
